Mr. Tomas has over 16 years experience in:
- Managing all aspects of financial reporting of both private and publicly held companies, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, identifying key success factors and developing new business models;
- Mergers and acquisitions in and out of bankruptcy including the dissolution of entities and "363" asset sales, most notably the sale of a 60-store national retailer of casual and high-end footwear and the sale of a 47-store national retailer of menís casual wear;
- Developing and executing reorganization plans and strategic business plans;
Developing and executing liquidation plans of assets to generate working capital;
Implementing creditor work-out payment plans;
Managing responses to regulatory enforcement actions for distressed banks;
Developing detailed capital restoration plans and business recovery plans with financial projections and analysis;
Advising and managing the sale of banks and loan portfolios; and,
Establishing commercial lending policies, loan loss reserve processes, credit administration and internal control policies.
Prior to joining Alliance Management, Mr. Tomas served as Vice President and Finance Manager of Voyageur Asset Management, a division of RBC Dain Rauscher, where he oversaw all accounting and finance functions of its $24 billion in assets. Most recently, Mr. Tomas served as Treasurer, Principal Accounting Officer and CFO for Tamarack Funds, a proprietary group of 33 different funds comprising $12 billion in fixed income and equity assets.
Mr. Tomas is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and a member of the Upper Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association. He holds a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
