Michael Knight
Over Thirty Years of Experience
Michael Knight has over thirty years experience advising both businesses in transition and distressed, troubled and underperforming companies.
Knight is a hands-on manager with extensive management and turnaround experience in manufacturing, construction (service & materials supplies), distribution, retail, real estate, and agricultural businesses. Michael has completed dozens of complex business transactions including refinancings, business sales, acquisitions and liquidations.
Knight has served as an interim CEO, business consultant, and court-appointed receiver of troubled and emerging companies. He has extensive experience in organizational restructuring, strategic business planning, developing and implementing comprehensive cost control and efficiency efforts, strategic business planning and complex business transactions.
Knight has received both regional and national awards from the Turnaround Management Association and M&A Advisor magazine for his work in the turnaround arena and for completing complex restructuring transactions. A well-known and highly-regarded interim manager and leader in the turnaround profession, Michael is a frequent CLE speaker on interim management, crisis management, distressed M&A and turnaround issues.
Mr. Knight is a graduate of Augustana University (B.A.) and Hamline University School of Law (J.D.) and is a member or past member of the following: Inducted Fellow, American College of Bankruptcy; Founder and Past-President, Upper Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association; International Board Member and Executive Committee Member, Turnaround Management Association (an 8,000 member international trade association of professionals who are decided to improving the profitability and performance of troubled companies); American Bankruptcy Institute; Bankruptcy and International Business Law Sections, Minnesota State Bar Association; and, the U.S. Court of International Trade. Knight is a licensed attorney and licensed real estate professional.
