Phil Kunkel

Extensive consulting experience in workouts and bankruptcy

Phil Kunkel concentrates his consulting practice in receiverships, commercial financing, agricultural and agribusiness financing, complex workouts and bankruptcy. He is a frequent CLE lecturer on commercial financing, UCC, renewable energy, and workout and bankruptcy topics. Phil has served as a receiver in a variety of cases in Minnesota and has been asked to serve as a Chapter 11 trustee in several unique bankruptcy cases. In addition, Phil has taught courses on agricultural marketing and production contracts in the LLM program at the University of Arkansas Law School and has led a team of law firm’s that were advising Catholic entities in connection with diocesan bankruptcies.

Phil’s experience includes:

  • 30+ years workout and bankruptcy experience
  • Has served as receiver, bankruptcy trustee, counsel for trustees, and Chapter 11 plan administrator
  • Experience mediator, arbitrator, and expert witness in commercial finance, bankruptcy and UCC matters
  • Industry experience includes real estate, agribusiness, nonprofits
